Storytelling 101

While our game will be heavily based on Story and Dialouge, the biggest brickwall that could be pulled up for a writer is a good start and a good ending. To me, its not so much the beginning of the story I have problems with, rather than having a problem with giving the player control and going from Storytelling to actualy playing the game, as you see, it always seems forced. Except when Square does it.
Or that could just be cause lately they decided to drop the "Playing" part of their RPG's.

Having that said, our game is kinda moving at a slower speed than I hoped it would. Mostly cause I am the main programmer, which is bad, since I am a novice or "NOOB" when it comes to the VX Maker... or any RPG Maker in general, and I have work to do.
So mostly I work on story ideas with the team during the week and work them into the game at its end.

The game will have a huge aspect borrowed of mythology and gods, like Odin, Loki, Fenrir for the Northern Regions, but also areas like Atlantis will be part of the game.
I hope I can show you a few screenshots soon and get this party started.

Our first steps

Oh yeah, another attempt by people with no knowledge about how to actually finish their own game, let alone make it good (or functional). So our team, the CrazyGamers decided to make an RPG with the help of the RPG Maker VX having us fighting against a time traveling Wizard, Gods and a parasite that spontaniusly decided: "The earths core shall be my breakfest.". And if you think this is fanfiction of yourself in every single way, you might be right.
HEY! DONT CLICK THE BACK BUTTON!

This story is supposed to be strong, not about the major goal, which has already been set in stone by our team, but all about the characters, their backstories and the development, as well as their interaction with each other. And what type of characters would be better to do that with, then the ones that we have inside of us.
Thus Sam, Trevor, Eli, Roald, Rune, Ramon, Jose and Carly are on their epic quest to save the world from Wizards, Gods, Parasites, and themselfs if they can help it.

Basic Plot of the game is a dark Wizard has created a paradox that will give him unlimited time to search for an artifact he wants, which he was able to create thanks to a war that was going on between demon gods and the normal, friendly cloud gods. While the gods attacked each other, trying to figure out who has the largest dick and the right to say "Jesus is my spawn!", Loki and his son decided to go out on a limb, saying that destroying and rebuilding the world would solve everything, to which the other gods responded with "No fucking way!" and started fight each other.
And that is only the backstory the game is based on.

The game heavily relies on time travelling and all the nice paradox stuff I loved in the Legacy of Kain series, and hopefully will run into the same kind of serious story, without having to deal with the Angsty-Cloud-Syndrom that has plagged many RPG's these days.
Also the characters all are unique and have their one in a kind relationship.

There will be two major teams in the game, that at some points will split up, mix up, or just lose a member who has to fight on his own (sad bastard).
One will be the filled with Sam, Trevor, Eli and Roald, having Sam and Trevor as the gold combination since they are retarted fun loving brothers, while Roald and Sam fight over Eli, who just runs past them to save Trevor who is getting chewed on by monsters.

The entire game, dialog and chemic is based on how the real life characters work together and mostly we will all sit together in a skype room, thinking who the fuck gets to kick some ass next.

By all means the game is not even closed to being finished since most of the mapping, editing and writting is done by me. And I am on the 2nd map. Go me!

So if you have any interest in a new RPG Maker Game to play, just a free RPG to have fun with and maybe even enjoy, then save this blog, dont forget it somewhere deep inside your favorite list and check back from time to time. It will be worth it!
..
I hope.
